Another day: RECHARGED

You wouldn't believe how much I love my companion right now. I don't remember ever being so completely amazed every time someone opened their mouth. Everything she says is gold. Not in the way you would expect though. Want to know how she learned how to receive revelation? We couldn't remember the lyrics to a Selena Gomez song and it was realllly eating at her, so she told me she was going to pray about it. A few minutes later she started spittin' out lyrics and they were slowly coming back to memory. By District Meeting the next morning we had almost the entire song down on paper. I wasn't really a part of this; it was all her. In the car afterwards she speaks up and says, "Look. I wrote down the steps to receiving revelation." To my surprise she had been praying and pondering about Selena Gomez all morning. And even more surprising, the steps that she came up with are 100% accurate. Later that day we couldn't think of the name of a show. She barely had seen the show but she knew which one I was talking about. Like I have become accustomed to, I quickly gave up on trying to remember the title. Seriously, all media is a blank screen in my mind by now. She said, "Don't worry, Sister. I'll pray about it." About five minutes later we're walking into someone's house and she steps up to go in before me. As she passes she leans over and whispers, "Workaholics".
We're positive that God is shaking his head at us. We're both so stubborn and in our lives we have both had to learn through personal trial and error. But hey, we're trying! And we are earnestly trying in all the right ways! We have a Heavenly Father that knows us individually. That's for sure. It seems impossible to believe that ALL things are spiritual to Him, but they really are. He really does care about the details of our lives. And if we ask with the right intentions, and if we ask of things that are good, he will always step up to the plate. We are never waiting for him because is the one consistently waiting on us.

I’m sure that I’ve said this on here before but it’s one of my favorite sayings.

We are not mortal beings having spiritual experiences, rather spiritual beings having mortal experiences.

If all things are spiritual to God, then, why can’t they be for us to? I think that the best thing to remember to ask yourself is, “What would Jesus do?” Christians have been rockin’ this on their bracelets and backpacks for decades now, and I don’t want to let a good thing die. In any situation we have two choices in how to act. You know, little angel on one shoulder, little devil on the other. Now honestly… be real. Only you are reading this. How often do you forget to consider this idea? How often do you even ask what you should do? I know that I normally speak before I think. So that probably means I act before asking, too. What about when you’re getting ready for a test. Say it’s a big test with big consequences. When the teacher/boss is prepping you for it and something they say doesn’t make sense in your head, do you shoot your hand up in the air? Or maybe go home and look it up on Google? You don’t just let that one slide, do you? No, you make sure you know the answers before you go in to put your name on that test and begin. So then with our two little friends sittin’ on our shoulders, why not hear what they have to say? Why not be as rehearsed and prepared as possible before we step into a situation?

OK, here’s another question. If you took the quiz (any type of quiz) and filled in the last bubble, finished the last sentence, and read over the answers one last time… would you want to know what you scored? Or would you be content in turning it in and then wiping your hands off and saying, “Good riddance.” Floop no!!! If you put the time and effort into preparing yourself you would 100% care about the score. And if the score doesn’t match up with what you think you deserve, you know that you’re at the teacher’s door the next morning, test in hand ready for a 1-on-1 smash down till you punch out the numbers and make sure it was all fair.

So here’s what I’m thinking. If we do that every time that something is important to us, than why not do it every time something is important to Him? And that is always. In the last days, I can promise you that when we are standing face to face with God and we’re reviewing our lives he will be one step ahead of you. He’ll be the teacher that marked it up with red pen, only where necessary, and filled in helpful comments along the side. He’s the one that allowed you to use your own voice even though he repeatedly told you that this was supposed to be a research essay, simply because he’s proud of the material you came up with. And we will sit with him as long as it takes and we can be certain that it will be fair. And we will be happy with the score we get.

We’re not perfect. That’s okay. We’re not graded on numbers but rather on progress. I will never be who I was yesterday. If today I make a new mistake it might very well throw me back a few steps. But only if I allow it to, really. Don’t I have enough say in my own actions? If I keep God involved in what I’m doing and then willingly follow his counsel I know that at the end of the day I did the very best I could. And by the next day you can be sure that you’ve moved forward. If not how you would have hoped, than in the way that he has planned out. But you do not have to perfect or finish anything! It is not required of us. He is our helping hand, our Redeemer, and our example. Our Lord will support us in all that we do.

But only if we ask him to.

I love you all and I'm so happy that it's finally warming up out there! Keep it real and remember till the end of forever that LIFE IS GOOD!
