Well everyone is awkwardly talking about possibly doing splits so that someone can stick around with me here so I can email. You see, I just made a slide show for Zone ConferenIce and it took 2 hours, and now everyone is done and I'm just now starting here on email. This conversation is really funny because I'm sitting right here but I'm not commenting at all. I can tell that nobody wants to stay behind with me. And at least ONE of them has to stay with me. I mean, I'm a missionary and all. Gotta have a companion. The hardest part of this is not laughing. They're desperately looking for a solution.
Ok I put them out of their misery. 5 minutes. Here we go;
JULIE
is a 10 year old recent convert in our ward. Last night we had a Charlafogonera (Spanish for "fireside", seriously??) and she could not stop talking to me. In desperation to get her to stop I handed her my book of Mormon which has 2 pictures in the back. One of my mom in 1971 serving her mission in Italy, and the other of my dad in 1972 serving in New York. Her comments were as follows; "She looks JUST like you!" and "He's cute! He's cute. He's really cute." So I don't know where I stand in that. Am I cute, too? My dad's cute, and I look like my mom... so is she also cute? Or just my dad? Either way, congratulations dad you should have had a cute boy! Sorry you got stuck with this stinker face.
6:30PM
is my absolutely favorite time of day in the "real world" outside of the mission. The sun is slowly setting, it's quiet except for people chatting on their patios and couples walking around hand-in-hand. It's the best time of day! On the mission this time seems to skip every day because I have never once looked at my watch and seen 6:30 unless it was in the beautiful AM (NOT beautiful, I lied). Well the other day we had the opportunity to leave home at 7AM, so we got to go home at 6:30PM! When I got there, therewere 3 letters waiting for me. One made me laugh, one made me cry, one gave me hope, and they all gave me strength. Thank you Jackson, Cammie, and Momma! On a truly difficult day you gave me everything I needed. Just thought you should know!
JOKES
in Spanish are hard. Most of my jokes in English are puns and play-on-words and that is hard to do with a language you don't speak. So here's one for you. It was a conversation;
"Quien es Cristi Nova?"
"No se"
"Ella va a iglesia?"
"Ella no-va"
did you get it? Well sorry I don't have time to explain! But it was funny!!
RESPONSIBILY
is the last word I'll leave with you. We are all here for a reason. I would have loved to be born in the 30's but no, I'm here in the stinky MtV disney channel hannah Montana Bieber energy drink generation. But regardless of your opinion, you are here today for a reason. There are things for each of us to do. And especially to you Latter Day Saints. We have a great responsibility! So go find it, fulfill it, and feel it! It feels great!
I love you all so much.
I saw a shirt the other day that said "Life is good" and it made me miss my old blog... just for a second though. Because Life is so much better now, LIFE IS A MISSION!
